Dr. English is a pharmacist and pharmaceutical scientist with many years of experience in several different areas of the field. After completing his PharmD at Samford University, he completed a psychiatric pharmacy residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center and a PhD in pharmacology at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Following completion of a research fellowship in clinical Pharmacology/Translational Medicine, he has worked at numerous pharmaceutical companies overseeing research in early phase drug development. He currently works as the Director of Clinical Development at Arena Pharmaceuticals; focusing on Cardiovascular and GI pain compounds.

Dr. English will be joining us to discuss the role of various scientists and other staff in the research and development of new medications, as well new techniques used in this research
