Dr. Samuel Strom is a Laboratory Director at Fulgent Genetics in Los Angeles. As an assistant professor at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine from 2013-2017, he was a pioneer in interpreting genomics results in the context of clinical diagnostic testing for rare inherited diseases and cancer. At Fulgent, he is continuing to forward this new science at an industrial scale. He is also accomplished researcher in the fields of neurogenetics, ophthalmic genetics, and molecular diagnostics, with publications in top journals such as Science, JAMA, Genetics in Medicine, and Human Molecular Genetics. Mr. Jakob Jansson leads the Sequencing Services line of business at Fulgent Genetics – focusing primarily on research, clinical trials, pharma, and government. He has previously held positions at the Department of Energy Joint Genome Institute, as well as the J. Craig Venter Institute, and has been involved in the genomics field for over 10 years. Prior to joining Fulgent, Jakob completed his graduate degree in Biotechnology Management from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine (a joint MBA/Biotechnology Master’s degree), with a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation in biotech. |
