Carol S. Lin, Ph.D., MAE

Overview

Carol S. Lin received her B.S. in Agricultural Chemistry (1981) from National Taiwan University, Ph.D. in Biochemistry (1988) from Case Western Reserve University, and M.A. in Higher and Postsecondary Education (2009) from Teachers College, Columbia University. Lin’s research experience includes postdoctoral training at Massachusetts General Hospital Neurogenetics Lab and research positions as instructor at Tufts University Neuroscience Program, staff scientist at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons Medical Oncology, and assistant professor at York College Natural Sciences, CUNY. She was a recipient of research grants from National Parkinson Foundation (co-PI) and NIH (RO1 co-PI, AREA PI). Lin’s teaching experience began when she was awarded tutorship for leading semester-long courses at Harvard University Biology Department while a postdoc. She has designed and conducted courses, workshops, and guest lectures for audiences ranging from 3rd graders to graduate students. Before joining USC's Keck School of Medicine as the director of Master's Program in Translational Biotechnology, Lin directed M.A. and Post Baccalaureate Programs in Biotechnology at Columbia University.

Lin is interested in postsecondary and higher education in biotechnology, drug discovery, development, and entrepreneurship using a wide-angle lens. She focuses on science and professional development processes employed by graduate students.
